In November 2014 We decided to head over to the Animal Welfare League and look for a family pup. My husbanand I had always had dogs growing up, and we wanted the same for our son. We met Lola and fell in love! She was the sweetest, most gentle girl, and she took to our son right away. When we brought her home, she fit right in. Snuggled on the couch, followed simple commands, and walked pretty well (we thought at the time) on a lease. But, then Lola started acting out. She would go to the bathroom inside, and started chewing on a few pillows. By the end of December, she had broken out of two crates, and ripped our entire love seat to its frame. If we were out for a walk, she’d pull so hard on her harness, and would want to chase every single squirrel in sight. We couldn’t even pass another dog with out her wanting to play. We had tried several times to train her ourselves, but we were doing it all wrong. I had known about Midway Dog Training Academy through a friend, and decided Lola needed to go to their program. On January 19th we met with Kendra & Scott, dropped Lola off, and hoped we’d be able to keep the dog we fell in love with. Lola was at training for two weeks and a couple days. We missed her immensely!!!! While she was away, Kendra would text us videos, pictures, and gave us updates. When we were able to pick her up, we spent more than 4 hours working with Kendra, Scott, and Lola, learning how to communicate with her properly, and how to take the tools they taught her, and apply them at home. We can now walk her off leash, with no issues. She doesn’t even think of destroying our furniture, no accidents (or on purpose) in the house. Most importantly, Lola is more relaxed. She can come in from a fierce game of fetch in the yard, and not go crazy. She feels confident and comfortable in her kennel, and we wouldn’t trade a thing in the world for the training she received. Friends and family always ask, “how did you get your dog to behave so well? I have never seen a dog so well trained, calm, and behaved”
My answer is always the same: We have the best trainers in our corner, and would be lost with out Kendra and Scott!!!!!
